Thank you to all of the Year 11 parents and carers who attended Parents' Evening last night. This week we have had a couple of careers events in school. The Year 10s attended a careers session hosted by The University of Surrey on post 16 and 18 pathways and Merrist Wood College and East Surrey College presented to the Year 9s.

Thank you to all the children, parents' and carers' who attended the Year 11 Revision Evening on Tuesday this week. It was a great evening and we hope it will help prepare the children for their upcoming mock exams.
This week Year 11 completed their French and Spanish speaking mock exams and GCSE Drama students visited the Lyric Theatre to watch Hadestown.

This term our parents’ and carers’ evenings start with Year 11 (all dates are listed below). Appointments will be held virtually. An email will be sent explaining how to book appointments shortly before the date of the evening for each year group.

On Thursday evening we held our Winter Concert. It was a great evening filled with fantastic performances by the children. Thank you to all of the parents and carers who attended. On Tuesday night it was the Reigate Speaks final. Congratulations to all of the children who participated, I really enjoyed listening to all of their unique speeches.
Please may I remind you that it is a late start for the children on Monday 5th January 2026. The children should be in school ready for form group at 9.45am. We will be starting the term on a week two timetable.
I would like to wish all our children and their families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Congratulations to all the children who have reached the final of Reigate Speaks. The final will take place on Tuesday evening, and I am very much looking forward to hearing each of the children’s speeches.
As we approach the end of term, there are plenty of festive activities planned for the final week. On Thursday evening, we will be hosting our annual Winter Concert, showcasing a wonderful celebration of music and talent.
Just a reminder that it’s an early finish of 12:05pm on Friday 19th December.

We are starting to feel festive at school. The Christmas Trees are up and decorated and this week the Year 7 Food and Nutrition classes have been decorating chocolate yule logs which I and other members of the SLT have had the privilege of judging for the most decorative in each class.
This week was also the finals of the Speed Chess Tournament. I had the honour of presenting the winner, Toby A, with his trophy.

Last Friday, a group of our Year 7 students enjoyed an inspiring visit to the University of Surrey. This week, our Year 10 Spanish students had the fantastic opportunity to visit the British Film Institute, and we held the final of the Year 7 Spelling Bee.
In addition, I was delighted to attend the biennial inspection of our cadets at Reigate Grammar School on Tuesday. It was a truly impressive morning, and we are incredibly proud of all the cadets for their dedication.

It has been another busy week of football fixtures! To keep up with all our sports teams’ results and highlights, please visit the PE Blog.
Next week, the Combined Cadet Force will hold its biennial inspection at Reigate Grammar School. This is an exciting opportunity for our cadets to demonstrate their skills and commitment. I’m looking forward to supporting them and watching their drill and inspection in action.

This week, our cadets have been busy representing the school at several important events. On Saturday, they proudly marched in the Lord Mayor’s Show. On Remembrance Sunday, they took part in the local service at Shaws orner, paying tribute to those who served.
Monday 17th November is an Inset Day and the school will be closed to the children for staff training.

I hope you all had a great half term. Next week is Anti-Bullying Week and on Monday 10th November we will be taking part in Odd Socks Day. The children are encouraged to wear odd socks to express themselves and celebrate individuality.
The Year 11 GCSE mock exams have gone well this week. The mocks continue into next week.
