At Reigate School, we are committed to creating a calm, purposeful and supportive environment where every child can thrive. Our expectations are built around three simple, clear principles that guide behaviour across our community: Ready, Respectful, Safe (RRS). These expectations sit at the heart of our school culture and shape how we learn, interact and support one another each day. They are embedded into lessons, tutor time, assemblies and the wider life of the school.
We expect all children to be ready to learn and actively participate in school life. This includes arriving on time, wearing the correct uniform, bringing the right equipment and approaching each lesson with a positive mindset. Being ready also means listening carefully, following instructions promptly and contributing to the classroom in a way that helps everyone succeed.
Respect is a core value at Reigate School and is reflected in the way our children treat others, their environment and themselves. We expect children to use polite language, show kindness and consider the feelings and ideas of their peers and staff. Respect also extends to looking after our school site, keeping spaces tidy and valuing the hard work of others. These values align closely with the wider Reigate School community values of Kindness, Respect, Friendship, Curiosity and Resilience.
Keeping our community safe is central to everything we do. Children are expected to conduct themselves in a way that protects their own wellbeing and that of others moving calmly around the building, using equipment responsibly and ensuring their words and actions contribute to a positive environment. Staying safe also applies to behaviour online, in social spaces and when representing the school in the wider community.
The Ready, Respectful, Safe principles are more than behaviour rules, they form the foundation of how we teach, learn and grow together. They help children understand what is expected of them, support staff in maintaining a positive school culture and ensure that everyone in our community feels valued, supported and able to succeed. These expectations are shared consistently across the school through assemblies, tutor times, displays and daily interactions, ensuring clarity and fairness for all.
