Homework
Aims
Homework is an integral part of children’ learning experiences. The purpose of homework is to:
- Consolidate, reinforce or learn knowledge and skills prior to the following lesson.
- Develop children’s independent learning and revision skills to support progress in all subjects.
- Develop an effective partnership between the school, parents and other carers in pursuing the academic aims of the school and the development of their child.
Setting and Monitoring Homework
The school uses Microsoft Teams to outline homework set. There is a link to Microsoft Office 365 on the homepage of this website. Children are encouraged to download the Microsoft Teams app onto their phones or desktops. To find out more information on accessing Microsoft Teams please click on the link below.
The children will be using the Sparx program which is an online learning platform for the homework of the core subjects of English, Maths and Science.
In addition to Sparx, Year 7 and Year 8 will receive a homework booklet each term which contains specific tasks to complement their learning in school. For Year 9, 10 and 11 they will have additional homework tasks set on Microsoft Teams.
