    Academic Success at Reigate School

Reigate School is a vibrant, high-achieving community where academic excellence, ambition and high expectations underpin everything we do. Our carefully designed curriculum provides every child with the knowledge, skills and character needed to thrive both during their time with us and in the world beyond school. We are committed to offering a truly broad and balanced education that inspires curiosity, nurtures talent and ensures all children are supported and challenged to achieve their full potential.

Throughout Key Stage 3, children engage with a rich and varied range of subjects across the arts, humanities, languages, technology and sport. Disciplines such as Geography, History, French, Spanish, Religious Education, Physical Education, Drama, Dance, Design Technology, Music, Computing and Food all feature prominently within our curriculum. This breadth gives children the opportunity to explore their interests, build strong foundations and develop the confidence needed to make informed choices for Key Stage 4.

As children move into Key Stage 4, our commitment to breadth, balance and ambition continues. All children study core subjects including English, Mathematics, Science, Life Skills and Physical Education, alongside Humanities and a Modern Foreign Language. Our three‑year KS4 model allows children to begin their GCSE pathway in Year 9, giving them additional time to deepen their knowledge, extend their thinking and work alongside peers who share similar enthusiasms.

A particular strength of Reigate School is our investment in small class provision in English, Mathematics and Science at Key Stage 4. In Years 10 and 11, the average class size in these subjects is below twenty, enabling highly personalised teaching and targeted support. Across every subject, children benefit from passionate, knowledgeable specialists who bring energy, expertise and enthusiasm to the classroom.

Our curriculum at Key Stage 4 is among the most diverse in the area, offering more than 30 courses for children to choose from. This extensive range ensures every learner can pursue areas they enjoy, discover new interests and follow pathways that reflect their ambitions for the future. Alongside core subjects, English Language and Literature, Mathematics, double or triple Science, a Modern Foreign Language and either History or Geography, children select two additional subjects that complement their strengths and aspirations.

Beyond the classroom, we provide a wealth of enrichment opportunities that broaden children’s horizons and strengthen their personal development. Our children regularly participate in national competitions such as the UK Maths Challenge, STEM events and debating activities. We also offer an exceptional programme of trips and visits, with recent destinations including Iceland, Washington D.C., New York, Paris, Spain, Cornwall and a variety of sports tours across Europe. These experiences help children build confidence, independence and a genuine love of learning.

Our academic success is evident not only in our outstanding outcomes across subjects, including particularly strong performance in English and Mathematics, but also in the resilience, curiosity and determination our children develop over time. They leave us as well‑rounded young people equipped with the knowledge, skills and character needed to succeed in further education, apprenticeships or training.

At Reigate School, we are proud to welcome families into a community where every child is valued, challenged and inspired to achieve their very best.
